CINEMA SAN PEDRO RETURNS

By Film Threat Staff | June 3, 2005

Cinequest has announced that Cinema San Pedro, the outdoor screening series that takes place during the summer months in downtown San Jose, will expand to 14 weeks this year. This popular event will occur in San Pedro Square on consecutive Wednesday nights June 1 – August 31, 2005. Cinema San Pedro includes favorite Cinequest Maverick short films as well as uniquely themed entertainment on each evening. In the past, there have been Klingons, gorillas, Kung fu masters, a killer rabbit, comedians and a bevy of high-jinx that often involved people walking away with cool prizes – it’s not just a screening but an event. This is a chance to take off your shoes, kick back with an ice-cold Miller Genuine Draft or Miller Lite, recline in your favorite lawn chair and watch a great flick under the stars. Concessions are available starting at 7:30 p.m., pre-show begins at 8:00 p.m. and the films begin at sunset. Cinema San Pedro will be located on San Pedro Street between Santa Clara and St. John streets. All screenings are free of charge and so is the parking at city lots and meters after 6:00 p.m. Bring your own lawn chair.
