CAPTURE CLAUS

By Pete Vonder Haar | June 15, 2008

Sean wants desperately to prove the existence of Santa to his unbelieving older brother and dad Frank, both of whom have long since lost their faith in Saint Nick. To achieve this end, he sets up a series of traps on Christmas Eve to capture Kris Kringle. Santa proves to be a wily adversary, however, and certainly harder to immobilize than one might assume of a jolly old elf.

Chris McInroy’s “Capture Claus” walks a fine line between healthy slapstick and childlike whimsy. It’s a fine effort, marked with convincing performances, that makes us all question our jaded disbelief of Santa.
