GUEST BIO:
Valerie Veatch is a director, writer, editor and producer. Making her directorial debut at the 2012 Sundance film festival with hit “Me @ The Zoo” (co-directed by Chris Moukarbel), Veatch’s first film was acquired by HBO Documentaries and was part of the 2012 HBO Documentaries Summer Series. Veatch is putting her mark on the documentary scene as a visionary with a sharp eye for the zeitgeist and a strong sense of story telling with her second feature documentary Love Child chronicling media immersion and addiction in Korea, set to premier Spring 2013. Veatch resides in New York City.

Chris Moukarbel is an NYC based filmmaker. He graduated in 2006 from Yale’s MFA program. Moukarbel’s first short film titled World Trade Center received wide media attention after going viral on YouTube and prompting a highly publicized national debate about intellectual property rights on the Internet. He continues to make films and music videos- his work often deals with ideas around technology and identity.

Moukarbel’s first feature documentary Me @ The Zoo follows the story of Internet celebrity Chris Crocker. It premiered at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival and is part of HBO Documentaries Summer Series. He is currently working on a documentary series about technology and sex.
