BURN

By Chris Gore | February 5, 2002

A man reads a newspaper amidst flames and burning embers. His wife seems unaffected as well as the house burns down. The flames become larger and larger and he continues about his business as if nothing is happening. We then see a man observing a gorgeous woman sleeping. He douses her bed with gasoline, then pours the gas over himself and lights the fire. The bed burns while the woman lay peacefully asleep.
There is something about watching a fire burn that is hypnotic and captivating. Watching people live their lives amidst a blaze is metaphorically tragic and visually haunting.
