AUSTIN FILM FEST TRAILER COMPETITION

By Film Threat Staff | August 8, 2003

Now celebrating its tenth anniversary, the Austin Film Festival is dedicated to furthering the art, craft and business of writers and filmmakers and recognizing their contributions to film, television and new media. The AFF champions the work of aspiring and established writers and filmmakers by providing unique cultural events and services, enhancing public awareness and participation and encouraging dynamic and long-lasting community partnerships.
This year the AFF has launched the Trailer Competition. This is a terrific opportunity for burgeoning — and not so burgeoning — filmmakers to have their work viewed by an audience of approximately 4,000 viewers, including many industry professionals.
Trailer submissions must promote the Austin Film Festival. They may be serious or comedic, but the content needs to be suitable for general audiences. The Trailer should express the ideas that the Austin Film Festival is founded on. Also, the filmmaker should keep in mind that the 2003 Festival marks our tenth anniversary. The trailer can be an original creation or perhaps a spoof of a well-known movie scene. Above all, it should be entertaining and fun, its intention is to rev the crowd up and excite them for and throughout the Festival. This is not an advertisement to try to pull people in, they are already there, but more of a fun way to say here’s the Festival, here’s what’s great about it, it’s our tenth anniversary, now enjoy.
DEADLINE: Submissions must be postmarked by August 15, 2003. ENTRY FEE: None.
