AT DOCTOBER, KAFKA RULES…

By Film Threat Staff | July 8, 2002

…Egon Kafka that is. In the documentary “Kafkaesque”, filmmakers Sven Berkmeier and Rich Samuels take their audience on a non-stop trip though the mind of eccentric Egon Kafka, collector of vintage coaches and classical automobiles in Southern California. The self-proclaimed “transportagonist” faces a constant struggle to keep his dream alive – an overwhelming quest, which leads him to consider his true connection to cousin Franz, the famed existentialist writer of the 20th century.

Is this guy a quack or not? Find out for yourself when “Kafkaesque” screens during the DOCtober film festival from September 13-19 at Laemmle’s Monica Fourplex in Santa Monica, California.

DOCtober, now in its sixth year, enables documentaries to qualify for Academy Award consideration.
