ALTMAN GOES HI-DEF

By Film Threat Staff | December 15, 2005

80 year old Robert Altman used his latest film ” A Prairie Home Companion” to get in touch with high definition digital video. Altman apparently has some scenes that are “as long as 23 minutes” and he wanted to be able to shoot them without reloading the camera. The film (which was “co-directed” by P.T. Anderson who was hired because Altman is too old to be insured) is set to be released in June.

Digital video in the hands of Robert Altman should be interesting…imagine if “Popeye” was on DV. Actually, don’t. It still would have sucked. At least with “A Prairie Home Companion” we’ll get hi-def Lindsay Lohan!
