ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE JOINS UP WITH BETA LAUNCH OF FACEBOOK DEALS

Starting November 8, 2010, go to any Alamo Drafthouse theater, check-in with Facebook Places and get a limited edition Alamo Drafthouse Cinema pint glass (while supplies last). On top of that, the individual theater with the most check-ins over a one week period will get a free outdoor Rolling Roadshow screening. Alamo Drafthouse and Facebook, together. If it wasn’t before, world domination seems to be inevitable now. From the official press release:

The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, named the #1 theater in America by Entertainment Weekly and the “coolest movie theater in the world” by Wired, will be one of the first businesses to participate in the beta launch of Facebook Deals, allowing the theater to offer a special check in gift to its patrons. The Facebook Deal will be available at all 10 Alamo Drafthouse locations. Beginning on November 8, participants who check-in with Facebook Places at any theater will receive a limited edition Alamo Drafthouse Cinema pint glass while supplies last. Additionally, the individual theater with the most check ins over a one week period will get a free outdoor Rolling Roadshow screening.

Facebook launched Facebook Places in the U.S. for the iPhone to easily let people share stories about their favorite places from their mobile device. Since then, millions of people have started using Places. With Deals, users can look at Places nearby on their iPhone or touch.facebook.com (on HTML5-enabled phones) and see the special check in offer at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema locations. People can also discover this offer through their friends in their News Feed.
