A PRIMER FOR DENTAL EXTRACTION

By Chris Parcellin | February 5, 2001

This is an arty little black and white film with stark imagery and bleakly atmospheric scenarios abounding. There’s no real story within “A Primer…,” just a series of visually enticing vignettes featuring a lone young woman (Dominique Gallo).
Filmmaker Carl Weidemann’s stark imagery, deft camera work and haunting cinematography recall David Lynch’s groundbreaking “Eraserhead.” Brilliant, chilling and bursting with creativity.
