The 5th Annual Artivist Film Festival kicks off this week in Hollywood at the Egyptian Theatre and you’re all invited.
Starting this Thursday, October 2 and ending on Sunday, October 5, with the Artivist Awards (a red carpet affair), you can catch 40 films from around the world in 4 days.
Artivist is the first international film festival dedicated to addressing Human Rights, Children’s Advocacy, Environmental Preservation, and Animal Advocacy. Its mission is to strengthen the voice of activist artists – “Artivists” – while raising public awareness for social global causes. Since 2004, Artivist has showcased 300+ films representing 52 countries.
Films that have premiered at Artivist include: Academy Award® Winner “Born Into Brothels,” Academy Award® Nominee “Super-Size Me” and films such as “Fast Food Nation,” “God Sleeps In Rwanda,” “Trudell,” “Emanuel’s Gift” and “Zeitgeist.”
Artivist Founder Diaky Diaz states, “Filmmakers from around the world unite at the annual Artivist Film Festival to address the importance of Art & Advocacy in our global community.”
The Artivist Awards (held on Sunday 10/5) honor artists whose exemplary work in their community stands out as a shining example of one person’s ability to change the world for the better. Past Artivist Awards Recipients have included such renowned individuals as:

The festival will travel to Mexico City (Oct. 24 – 26), Tokyo (Nov. 14 – 16), London (Nov. 28 – 30), and Lisbon (Dec. 6 – 7).
