The slow march towards Christmas and New Year’s continues with some familiar faces, both good and bad, and at least one sentimental-to-the-point-of-tears drama…

Night at the Museum

Ben Stiller is a loser working overnights at a museum. Robin Williams is an over-animated cameo. Dick Van D**e is still alive. Oh, and Owen Wilson too. Every ingredient is in place for The Most Annoying Movie of the Year.

Rocky Balboa

I know, I know! Stallone is way passed his prime, this is most likely an easy cash-in project and wasn’t everything that needed to be said about Rocky said in that piece of s**t Rocky V? BUT… the music, the training montage, the hopping around at the top of the Art Museum steps; dammit, Rocky, you got me for at least one more film. Do Philly proud, can’t wait for this one.

Curse of the Golden Flower

I have no idea what’s going on, but it sure is pretty looking.

We Are Marshall

Seeing Matthew Fox in a film involving a plane crash makes me think of Lost. Seeing Matthew McConaughey in any film makes me think of Dazed and Confused. Seeing a bunch of people chanting makes me think of Nazi Germany. Football? How about Remember the Titans, Rudy or Friday Night Lights. Too many conflicting pop culture references to go into this one clean, sorry, Warner Brothers…
