A militant extremist discovers the fun of Halloween in Lee Chambers’ short film, Wicked Plans. Style Dayne plays a suicide bomber from the country of Amadajiya, who is on a mission to assassinate Intelligence Member Senator Johnson. The problem is it’s Halloween, and his plan is thwarted when approached by a fairy (Paisley Betcher), Hulk (Davlin Horth), and vampire (Elly Gerspacher).
“…on a mission to assassinate…Senator Johnson. The problem is it’s Halloween…”
Running at a brisk five minutes, Wicked Plans takes a light, comedic approach to storytelling. For the most part, it’s a comedic sketch about a foreign assassin discovering the fun found in Western culture. What I admire the most about writer/director Lee Chambers’ story is the melding of a sweet story of Halloween and a suicide bomber. Though I would personally like to see Wicked Plans lean hard into this contrast (like really hard), it’s weird enough for the whole family to enjoy.
