I feel like the stories could have been more impactful and less distracting if the film focused solely on the speaker. It’s funny because the movie is about mindfulness but doesn’t practice it. It skips all over the place, not giving enough focus on one person’s journey at a time. To be fair, this could be because there are so many people in the movie who have used mindfulness to build important organizations for their respective communities.

Overall, I think that it’s crucial for people, especially those with problems such as anxiety, PTSD, depression, substance abuse, among others to know about and utilize the practice of mindfulness. I also think that it’s important to celebrate the people who have made differences in other’s lives due to their own experience with mindfulness. However, I believe that the message is swallowed up by the medium in The Mindfulness Movement.

“…skips all over the place, not giving enough focus on one person’s journey…”

Even my boyfriend, who was sitting in the other room while I was watching the movie, asked, “So was that a documentary or an advertisement?” It’s a shame that the film came off that way, but I do think the movement itself is important for our world, especially right now, when everything is so crazy.

You can learn more about the mindfulness movement, mindfulness itself, and the people who help others with the use of mindfulness at TheMindfulnessMovement.com. I would honestly go there and skip the movie unless you love infomercials or an hour and a half of too many talking heads to connect with one in particular. In that case, go ahead.
