The spirit of the late poet Bukowski becomes a ghost in the machine in the AI-tooled unconventional superhero feature The Incorporeal Man, written and directed by Zeb Haradon. Haradon created and animated all the images with a variety of AI software, using his voice for all the parts and the filmmaker’s face for the lead character.

Jim hitchhiked his way into a strange town with no job and barely any funds. He manages to get a room for a few nights in a transient hotel because someone just died. He meets Roger from across the hall when he drops by with vodka and chicken wings for the dead guy.

Jim gladly accepts the bottle and lets Vern know that he is secretly a crime fighter with superpowers. If Jim can get drunk enough, he can walk through walls. He used to do it for money in a traveling carnival, but quit that job to concentrate on using his power to fight crime.

“…he is going to use his powers to find the Northside Butcher and bring him to justice.”

That is why he is saving up for Kung Fu lessons, but he will be out of money soon. Roger introduces Jim to Vern, the boss over at the s**t factory on the edge of town. Jim is put on the assembly line that day, with the task of pulling any defective s**t off the belt.

Jim hates his new job and continues to drink nonstop. He takes Roger with him to look for clues, as he is going to use his powers to find the Northside Butcher and bring him to justice. He just needs another drink first.

"… the closest thing to what a superhero movie written by Bukowski would have looked like."
