Jeremy Dubin and Ryan Lewis’ short film, Strike Team Justice, runs quick, so I’ll be brief. Young Jimmy is in a backyard tent on walkie-talkies with his friend pitching a fantastic action movie plot for him and his friends to star in and produce.
“…thieves recruited to join Strike Team Justice and take on the evil Silverfish.”
Ben and Emily are thieves recruited to join Strike Team Justice and take on the evil Silverfish. They battle both on and off the Earth. We cut from Jimmy’s pitch to scenes from the fake feature, then to quick behind-the-scenes moments.
As a short film, Strike Team Justice moves at a fast pace, packs a lot of story behind it, and ultimately captures the childlike joy of storytelling and the Big Hollywood pitch meeting and the thrill of making a movie. Sadly, it’s two-minute runtime was not enough—I want more. I love the ending, though.
