Sometimes a thought enters your brain and you just have to express it…even in an ultra-short film. This is the case of artist Starry Venus in Starborn.
Running at just over a minute, Starborn is the story of a forgotten goddess, Divine Mother (Andrea Wright), who wanders bloodied through nature. She struggles to find the meaning of her existence until she walks into a town and sees visions of those she saved over the millennia.

Andrea Wright as the Divine Mother struggles across sunlit red rocks in Starborn, the one-minute micro-film directed by Starry Venus.
“…sees visions of those she saved over the millennia.”
Starborn is an ultra-micro budget film that tells a simple story. As a film, I appreciate that filmmaker Starry Venus found elements in her shoot locations to enhance the story, such as using a cluster of cacti in the background of an emotional scene or adding video and CG effects to further the narrative.
With Starborn, you’re in and out in a minute and like a work of art: you watch, you reflect, and hopefully you walk away a different person…if ever so slightly.
