Spacetime Chronicles

By Ricky Archuleta | April 23, 2026

On a journey of self-discovery, Fred shifts between reality and a surreal dreamscape. Guiding him between these psychological realms is Freud, a cat with lives to spare who serves as the literal embodiment of Fred’s unconscious mind. As Fred travels through the fragmented corners of his own history, he must make sense of the abstract nature that defines the essence of life as we know it.

In their first feature-length film, the creative engine behind Seenfilm, Stefano Bertelli and Riccardo Orlandi, bring a truly unique experience to life with Spacetime Chronicles. As a production designer and mechanical engineer, Orlandi has created a visually stunning world entirely out of stop-motion animated low-poly paper. Known for his work on high-profile music videos and commercials, Orlandi masterfully crafts every environment, from claustrophobic shops in Japan to the confines of public transit, eventually taking the audience into the skies. Orlandi also built the mechanical rigs used to animate these visions, making for a monumental technical achievement and a visual feast not to be missed.

Serving as director, producer, editor, and writer, Bertelli wears many hats with precision. He navigated Spacetime Chronicles through a massive evolution, expanding it from a 24-minute short film into a full 70-minute feature. Sharing a deep background in music video production as Orlandi, this film required Bertelli to step outside the realm of pure visual storytelling and deliver a screenplay with genuine philosophical weight. The hard work, dedication, and talent of Bertelli and Orlandi are extravagantly evident and deeply appreciated.

Spacetime Chronicles is meticulously crafted from start to finish. The result is an intriguing, whimsical odyssey that is worth taking time and again. As Freud tells Fred, every observer has their own time, and this film is a great trip worth every minute.
