Smoked Too

By Alan Ng | June 17, 2026

Stoners robbing a drug lord and surviving on dumb luck alone — director Jamie DeWolf’s Smoked Too commits headfirst into this oddball premise. It’s a sequel that takes a small-time pothead crime caper and ups the stakes without losing the laughs.

Ace (Geoff Trenchard), Smalls (Rupert Estanislao), and Jimmy James (Jamie DeWolf) are the kind of idiots who robbed liquor stores for fun and never once thought of it as a crime. Now they’re grown, broke, and pinning their whole future on a cannabis plant they’re babying like a newborn. Patience is the plan—just let it grow. So the boys throw a party for the hell of it, but two hooligans case the house while everyone’s distracted, walk off with the plant, and torch the spare plant on their way out. With Jimmy learning his girlfriend is pregnant and the boys being sued for the injuries suffered by party guests, they need lots of money and fast.

With nothing left to lose, the trio decides to rob a high-profile cannabis club. Dressing up as cops, the job should be easy. The dispensary’s stoner employees barely put up a fight, mostly because management never trusted them with loaded guns in the first place. What our heroes don’t know is that the club belongs to drug lord Tyrone Shank (L. Abdul Kenyatta).

Because Shank’s club is run by a bunch of stoner pacifists, Shank sends in a squad of killers known as the Four Horsemen to clean up the mess. Smiley is their leader, then Burning Man, Skinner, and a ninja. The job: find the three idiots and teach them that no one steals from Shank… even if it’s just pot. What we have now is a stoner crime war breaking out across Oakland. Now, who regrets legalizing marijuana?

Smiley points while Burning Man in a gas mask and a robed ninja stand behind him in Smoked Too.

“Because Shank’s club is run by a bunch of stoner pacifists, Shank sends in a squad of killers known as the Four Horsemen to clean up the mess.”

The best joke of Smoked Too is found in the premise—take the stoner-comedy formula and drop it into the world of New Jack City. You’ve got a trio of idiots who rob a cannabis club for a massive payday and end up pissing off exactly the wrong guy, and then have to talk, stumble, and luck their way out of it the way only a stoner could.

On the other side is Shank, a crime boss who still operates on the old code of the street—steal from me, I kill you. The problem is, his own people won’t pick up a gun — the cannabis club’s stoner employees donated their arms to charity rather than shoot it out.

The real fun of the film is our stoner trio: Ace, Jimmy, and Smalls. Ace is the fast-talking Moe of the group. Jimmy’s the hapless one who follows Ace into every bad decision, basically, Larry. And Smalls is the Filipino Curly, leaning hard into the Asian stereotypes and jokes, and lands every joke beautifully.

For a movie running on a micro-budget, Jamie DeWolf gets away with a lot. Real effort went into the costumes and the heavy gore effects. DeWolf also keeps the pace fast — every chance for a decent-to-hilarious joke is taken, and the movie flies. And for a drug-gang movie, it’s gritty, violent, and gory in a way that earns it.

DeWolf knows exactly why we’re here: some good old-fashioned 420 stoner fun, and he delivers it without apology. Take my advice: go to Smoked Too expecting idiots, blood, and bad decisions, and you’ll walk out satisfied.
