I’ve always thought that our lives are a drama written by the Big Screenwriter in the Sky. All of us have that pivot point. That single decision becomes the moment that propels us from failure to prosperity. Adam Ethan Crow’s dramatic feature, Midnight Caller, follows a group of lost souls all faced with a pivot point, working through what choice to make.

Dangerous Dave Dawson (Corey Johnson), an American shock jock with a brash, no-nonsense style, has been exiled from America to Mayhem FM, a struggling UK talk radio station. He was hired haphazardly, as hardly anyone was aware of his controversial past. His confrontational on-air persona clashes with British sensibilities, but his polarizing approach draws the ratings that the station desperately needs.

Behind the scenes, Dave butts heads with station manager Jack Ratoran (Gethin Anthony), who is under pressure from his mother-in-law and station owner Mrs. Chesler (Alexandra Gilbreath) to fire Dave and protect the station’s reputation. Meanwhile, Dave navigates personal struggles, his complicated relationship with his colleague, Angela (Aislinn De’Ath), and guilt over his broken marriage to his estranged wife, Kate (Olivia McGuinness). For everyone at the station, the choice is money over morality.

Station manager Jack Ratoran (Gethin Anthony) confronts Dangerous Dave Dawson (Corey Johnson) as tensions rise behind the mic in Midnight Caller.

“…a caller phones into Dave’s show, claiming to be hiding from an intruder live on air.”

At the same time, the station is running a grueling “hands-on-the-car” contest with contestants Trent (Robert Dukes), Nicola (Anya Newall), and Karleen (Tianah Hodding), who are the final three, in hopes of winning a new car. Exhaustion weighs heavily on the crew. When Nicola and Trent discover that Karleen is deaf and is about to be tossed out of her apartment, the game dynamics change. Each one has a reason to win the car and is forced to weigh their needs against those of their competitors.

Outside the station, a parallel story unfolds under a London bridge, where a homeless veteran, Solomon (Kashif O’Connor), tries to offer sage advice to a troubled young gang member, Nile (Araloyin Oshunremi). Nile has lived a tough and violent life, and he is faced with taking action at the orders of his gang’s leader that will send his life in a dangerous direction.

The narratives converge when a caller phones into Dave’s show, claiming to be hiding from an intruder live on air. The intruder turns out to be the caller’s abusive father, and there is a potential suicide attempt. Sensing a ratings opportunity, Dave goads the caller to confront the danger, and as they say, this doesn’t end well.
