BFI LONDON FILM FESTIVAL and SITGES FILM FESTIVAL REVIEW! Man Eating Pussy is a well-orchestrated, designed, executed, and very bold short horror film about a dying man seeking the ultimate release—a birth in reverse. A sexy hookup in a hotel hallway sets the mood as we follow Freddie (Julian Richings), flowers in hand, into a hotel room. A man, still covered in remnants of his sexual encounter with Kitty (Grace Glowicki), a sex worker with a vagina for a face, is leaving.

Freddie surprises Kitty with his entrance as she is cleaning up from her last date when she reveals herself with a vagina for a head. An eye at the top of the vagina swivels to see Freddie. As Freddie and Kitty connect, she allows him to feel her vagina and, like a monster, sucks in his hand into her vagina. Freddie has reached the end of his life, and his desire is to die inside Kitty. She grants his wish, and in the end we see Freddie’s face as the vagina covered in rays of light from the sunrise of a new day.

What begins as a surreal transaction slowly becomes something more intimate. Freddie sees Kitty not as an object but as a person, and Kitty, in turn, offers him tenderness, care, and the chance to leave the world on his own terms. Her femininity from her voice, body, clicking nails, and honesty is hard to resist.

A couple shares a passionate embrace in a golden-lit hotel hallway in Man Eating Pussy.

“…a dying man seeking the ultimate release—a birth in reverse.”

It is a brief experience in which the viewer inhabits an unknown world free of societal norms and expectations, especially those placed on women. Man Eating Pussy director and filmmaker Emily “Lee” Lawson subverts the traditional female monstrous horror figure and, in the end, allows two people to care for one another.

Lawson says, “The film draws on my early experiences acting in horror films, where female bodies are framed as sites of violence—brutalized, violated, and consumed. Women in these roles are rarely treated as full people. Man Eating Pussy reclaims that image, and my voice within the horror genre. With this film, I seek to honor the uniquely female tension between the erotic and the existential, collapsing sex, birth, and death into a single gesture.”

Man Eating Pussy captures a beauty-and-beast dynamic in which the grotesque becomes beautiful. As a horror film, it brings an artistic vision to the screen, evident in the attention to detail in every aspect of the film, from its editing, lighting, set design, sound, wardrobe, casting, and movement to the incredible, living, detailed, color, and dripping vagina that is Kitty. The prosthetic work is phenomenal. Man Eating Pussy takes horror to a level rarely experienced.

Man Eating Pussy premiered at the 2026 SXSW Film Festival and won the Midnight Short Special Jury Award.
