Michael Neel’s horror short, It’s Me, Ma, runs a brisk four minutes and shows just what an impact four minutes can make.

It’s a simple tale of young Harold (Anthony Rainville) visiting his mother Agnes (Virginia Inglis). When Harold knocks on her front door, Agnes doesn’t remember him as she is clearly suffering from Alzheimer’s, and Harold does everything he can to jog her memory.

“When Harold knocks on her front door, Agnes doesn’t remember him…”

I can’t say much beyond that…I mean, it is a horror short. Like a comedy sketch, the horror is essentially the punch line, and for me, it was unexpected and surprising. Mission accomplished. Good performances and simple setups show you don’t have to make things so complicated to deliver the good.
