If you like your haunted house pictures with a little skank, and plenty of stank, deeply inhale the funky horror comedy Haunted Heist, directed by Lil Rey Howery from a script by Carl Reid. Since T (Karlous Miller) is getting out of jail, Rat-Faced George (Tony Baker) has a dandy way T can pay him back for taking care of him while in. Rat-Faced George knows of a dagger in an old house that is worth close to twenty million dollars. T can steal it, sell it, and get RFG back his due, while keeping the rest as a thank you present. When T gets out, he calls the friends he used to have, promising them a fun stay in a unique Airbnb on him. He then shows up to the spooky old mansion with his burglary tools.

Ron (Lil Rey Howery) and Shari (Tiffany Haddish) study a mysterious old book in a scene from Haunted Heist.
“When T gets out, he calls the friends he used to have, promising them a fun stay in a unique Airbnb on him.”
His friends include Ron (Lil Rey Howery), who still cannot accept that he is getting divorced from his beloved Joanna (LaKeysha Edwards), despite seeing the guy she is f*****g in the background of their calls. There is Shari (Tiffany Haddish), who is busy as an online social influencer with a trunk full of spunk. Ellis (Andrew Bachelor) has just lost his company, but he cannot seem to shake his former assistant, Jared (Stephen Blackwell). It doesn’t take long for the three standing in an abandoned mansion to realize something sketchy is going on. They do not know that the house is still haunted by its racist owner in the 50s (Brett Gelman) and his wife (Ari Dayan), who in their time sacrificed the help to Satan. These restless spirits are not down with their new guests at all, and the devil is hungry…
First off, Haunted Heist is a f*****g funny movie for the first two acts, before it takes a big ghost s**t in the finale. Second, it doesn’t f*****g matter, as Haunted Heist has already secured a footnote in film history. Haunted Heist was one of the only new releases I could find during the second historic weekend of summer blockbuster The Odyssey. This little movie had the big swinging balls to break into Nolan’s house to pry away a few bucks for itself; that was Haunted Heist. I caught the late show on that Saturday night, and this f****r was ready to rock. It was foul-mouthed, unpredictable, and ready to tussle with the Prince of Dark Knightness. And it wins the fight, right up to the amazing ghost group sex scene. Then it stumbles and gets knocked the f**k out.
"…misbehaves in the most anarchistic way for a great stretch of the movie."
