G(l)ory Days

By Alan Ng | April 29, 2026

Director Cory DeMeyers’s G(L)ORY DAYS is a gory horror-comedy about two washed-up slasher killers who reunite at a quiet cabin for a weekend getaway. What should be a peaceful escape becomes a descent into ego and violence as their competitive nature resurfaces.

Hulk (Tait Fletcher) and Turtleneck (Guy Van Swearingen) are two former slasher killers who’ve retired to a quiet cabin for a weekend of fishing and some ball busting. These guys wax nostalgic about the days when slashing mattered. Over the years, Hulk amassed the highest body count, but Turtleneck had style. His kills were stories of legend. What’s clear is their rivalry never really went away; it just went dormant.

A woman with a bloodied face laughs intensely in a scene from G(L)ory Days.

“Hulk and Turtleneck are two former slasher killers who’ve retired…”

When Lane (Missy Fierro) and Heather (Sari Sanchez) pull up to camp nearby, something stirs within the killer duo. Suddenly, these two aren’t just swapping old stories anymore. They’re competitors again. Who can take these women down better? Who’s still got the killer instinct? Egos flare. The competition is on, and neither one is willing to admit they might be past their prime.

Admittedly, I’m not the biggest fan of horror, but I do love horror comedy. G(L)ORY DAYS is gory and funny…just to take the edge off a bit. It starts with a great premise: two old-timers triggering that itch from the old days. Director Cory DeMeyers and writers Sammy Horowitz and Adam Pasen then pay homage to old-school slasher movies once Lane and Heather arrive. There’s comedy, and then there’s gore. This is the perfect film for your late-night film festival block.
