Bounty Hunters

By Bradley Gibson | April 2, 2025

In director Christopher Sheffield’s brief, dynamic short film Bounty Hunters, two brothers are on the edge of desperation, and loyalties are tested. Somewhere In a crumbling dystopian city, possibly under an authoritarian regime, Jasper (Francisco Marquez, who also wrote the screenplay) and Eli (Chris Labadie) are running for their lives, hunted by a relentless, unseen bounty hunter. Jasper is in favor of hiding out, while Eli insists they keep moving. To say more would be to give it all away.

“…two brothers on the edge of desperation in a dystopian city…”

The film is essentially one scene from a larger narrative. It is set in a parking garage full of vehicles that seem to not have run for some time, backed up by music that keeps the tension high. Sheffield presents an exciting narrative in just a few minutes, a vignette that leaves the viewer wanting to know more of the story and see it play out.
