WERNER HERZOG VS. THE LOCH NESS MONSTER

By Film Threat Staff | August 2, 2004

On August 10th, The American Cinematheque at the Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles is presenting a special sneak
preview of “INCIDENT AT LOCH NESS”, directed by Zak Penn. “INCIDENT AT LOCH NESS” is a film within a film “documentary” that explores the myth and mysteries
surrounding Scotland’s famed Loch Ness Monster. An expedition team, led by renowned filmmaker Werner Herzog (“NOSFERATU”, “WHEEL OF TIME”), sets out to discover the real story behind the monster which is said to lurk in one of the world’s deepest lakes. Follow the crew as they arrive in Inverness and visit the surrounding community, documenting the local conception of the elusive creature. Next, the team heads out onto the lake searching for signs and clues as to the truth behind the mystery. As the film progresses, it begins to appear that some of the myths are not so “mythical” after all…

Discussion following with director Zak Penn, filmmaker
Werner Herzog & producer Thomas Augsberger.
