Are You Not Dedicated Actor?

By Chris Gore | November 24, 2017

James Franco’s film The Disaster Artist is an over-the-top performance by Franco about the making of famously bad and yet still beloved Tommy Wiseau film The Room.

One scene has Wiseau rehearsing an actor (Franco’s brother Dave) at a restaurant, encouraging him to go full volume melodrama. A24 Films is promoting The Disaster Artist by encouraging fans to do the same: perform a scene from The Room in public and post clips on Instagram or Twitter by November 24th with the hashtag #ImADisasterArtist.

“A24 presents The Tommy®, an award for uninhibited creative expression inspired by Tommy Wiseau.”

We conveniently located the script for The Room online here, for those who haven’t memorized the whole thing (though we question your dedication).

Perhaps the classic rooftop entrance?

Johnny: I did not hit her, it's not true, it's bullshit, I did not hit her. I did not. Oh hi Mark.
Visit the A24 site here for full details about submitting your very own disaster-piece for the Tommy award. Or watch the clip:
