Brace yourselves! The Critics Choice Awards are back for their 30th year, and this time, they’re teaming up with E! for what promises to be a wild night of Hollywood worship. On Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 7:00-10:00 pm ET/PT, the Critics Choice Association will drop their annual honors live from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. If you miss it live (for some reason), you can catch it streaming the next day on Peacock.
Chelsea Handler, the queen of snark and six-time New York Times best-selling author, is set to host for the third consecutive year. Apparently, she just can’t get enough of roasting Hollywood’s finest. “I feel like I’m returning to my birthplace,” Handler said, clearly stoked to be back on E! where she’ll likely keep everyone on their toes. Handler is known for her fearless commentary, and if her past hosting gigs are any indication, the star-studded audience better be ready for her no-holds-barred style.
The red carpet coverage kicks off at 6:00 pm ET/PT. The Critics Choice Awards will continue to honor film and television in a combined format, celebrating the best in cinematic, televised, and streaming achievements.
CCA CEO Joey Berlin hyped the milestone event, promising it’ll be the “biggest and best” yet. E! is no stranger to rolling out the red carpet for Hollywood’s big nights, and according to NBCUniversal’s Jen Neal, the network is ready to make this Critics Choice Awards a key date on the awards season calendar.
So, indie film fans, while the glitzy networks play dress-up, grab your popcorn and prepare for Handler to inject some much-needed attitude into an industry too often obsessed with itself.
