The International Documentary Association will present a special InFACT screening of the large-format documentary “Coral Reef Adventure” produced by MacGillivray Freeman Films.
The screening will be held at 2 p.m. on August 30, at Universal CityWalk IMAX Theater, and will be followed by a discussion with the filmmakers.
“This extraordinary documentary is a totally immersive experience which transports the audience to a rarely seen part of the world,” says IDA Executive Director Sandra Ruch. “It makes an indelible impression. Greg MacGillivray is a great documentary filmmaker, who has created some of
the most important and memorable films of our times, including ‘To Fly and Everest.’ No one who experiences this film will ever forget it.”
“Coral Reef Adventure” tells the story of filmmakers Howard and Michele Hall, who were on a personal journey to document some of the world’s most beautiful, yet endangered coral reefs in the South Pacific. “Coral Reef Adventure” is the third in a series of ocean-themed, mission-driven films produced by MacGillivray Freeman. The 45-minute film was inspired by MacGillivray’s deep commitment to promoting the health of the world’s oceans. The first two films in the series, “The Living Sea” and “Dolphins,” were nominated for Academy Awards for Best Documentary Short Subject.
