BLOOD WRESTLING: ONLY AT GENGHIS CON II: THE WRATH OF CON

By Film Threat Staff | August 10, 2006

Pittsburgh-based film company Happy Cloud Pictures is proud to announce that Genghis Con II: The Wrath of Con will be hosting a very special event on Saturday, Setember 16: Blood Bath: The First Blood Wrestling Match Ever Held!

Seemingly a no-brainer for the horror lover, the event was the inspiration of Christy Whiles of Toe Tag Pictures, and will be held for the first time ever at Genghis Con II, Saturday only. “It’ll be a knock-down, drag out good time,” says show promoter (and wrestling participant) Amy Lynn Best, “six beautiful women covered with stage blood inside the hotel itself!”

Genghis Con II runs September 15-17 at the Greentree Radisson, just minutes from downtown Pittsburgh. Having made its premiere last year, Genghis Con is the first of its kind in Pittsburgh, making its dual focus the horror genre and the wide and busy world of independent filmmaking. This year’s special celebrity guests include Lloyd Kaufman, the president and co-founder of Troma Entertainment—the oldest independent film studio in the country, responsible for such films as The Toxic Avenger and Tromeo and Juliet. Joining Lloyd is a variety of horror entertainment staples including actor Reggie Bannister, from the cult series Phantasm; Leslie Easterbrook from The Devil’s Rejects and Police Academy; actress and producer Debbie Rochon (Nowhere Man); actress Linnea Quigley (Return of the Living Dead); April Monique Burril, the star of Chainsaw Sally; Ari Lehman “The First Jason” from Friday the 13th; international promotional model-turned-actress Sofiya Smirnova (Abattoir) and many more to come! (Guests subject to change.)

Because of the special nature of the Blood Wrestling event, an additional charge of $5 will be charged for those interested in attending, but space is limited and only 200 tickets will be sold beginning at 11 AM at the Happy Cloud Pictures booth. Tickets to the Blood Wrestling will only be sold to those who already hold a weekend or two-day pass (available online or at the door). Blood Wrestling tickets will not be sold online. While only those eighteen years old and over will be admitted to the Blood Wrestling, there will be no nudity involved with the event and no alcohol will be permitted inside the event room. A photo session with the ladies will be held immediately after the event (additional charges for photos apply). Portions of the proceeds will be donated to charity.

“This is a world-premiere event,” says Best. “To our knowledge, no one has ever done anything like this before, combining horror movie fun with wrestling. It seemed like the perfect idea!”
