Academy Museum of Motion Pictures Opening in 2019 in LA

By Chris Gore | March 2, 2018

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in the heart of Los Angeles will open in 2019 as the world’s premier film center dedicated to the art and science of movies—past, present, and future.

Visitors will be transported inside the dream factory for a behind-the-scenes look at the magic of film. Beyond the exhibitions, programs, and collections, this stunning space will serve as a hub for film fans all over the world. It will be a place where young filmmakers can learn from the masters—where we can share our love of movies and encourage new generations to push the boundaries of storytelling.  The academy is seeking donations for the project. Designed by renowned architect Renzo Piano, the museum will be home base for all of us who dream in the flickering light at 24 frames per second.
