It was when she landed a “Best Web Series” WIN that I thought, “NOW I have a viable product.” And that’s when I started to transition Shannon to a more “official” show with her own YouTube Channel, (before she was just a hashtag on my Instagram feed), and filming her in a more professional setting with all the tools I already had at my disposal from my previous production experience. The only difference is – I’m not using a “real camera” – I’m using my phone to film, and I’m utilizing some mobile phone editing apps (in addition to my regular editing software) to “aid” in the finalization of some of the current episodes.
What are your plans for the show?
Shannon is a character with endless possibilities! I will continue to do what I’m doing with the shorts you see on the YouTube Channel, adding more and more content. I have also been drafting designs for “Shannon-themed” merchandise that are ready to go as things move forward, and I can see doing some “live streams” down the road AS Shannon, where she can meet her audience “in real-time.”
Shannon is also very flexible! She can easily transition from the social media shorts to an actual comedic title character for a scripted episodic single-cam or sitcom series on any number of platforms. When/if that occurs, I would just transition the YouTube Channel into the character’s supportive “social media” outlet, where she can connect personally with her audience separate from the scripted show, engaging today’s more modern audiences.
“From YouTube shorts to potential sitcom stardom, Shannon’s journey is just beginning.”
Then – the sky’s the limit! Cameos in live events or on actual scripted shows, “walking the streets” of various cities (with an actual camera crew in tow) engaging her surroundings, and even having her “join” one of my Rising Monarch Concerts (between songs/numbers), where I “interact” with her (either through pre-recorded video on a traditional screen or using some of those AI functions of “virtual” animations on stage) – but that’s way down the line “dreaming” here.
In short, Shannon has the potential to be the “Gift that Keeps On Giving” for a LONG while, no matter WHAT I’m doing on a stage or film set, whether acting or singing.
