It would seem that the pervasive hatred of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not driven by objective artistic or ethical standards; it’s driven by a primal, undifferentiated fear that has been retrofitted with flimsy, factually incorrect arguments, often further amplified by grifters and opportunists eager to leverage the latest hot topic into being about them. The opposition is an intellectual vacuum masquerading as a moral crusade.
The movement is based on emotional incontinence and the anxiety of obsolescence, and its proponents grasp at any narrative, no matter how illogical, to justify their refusal to evolve and their insistence that the rest of the world bend itself to suit them.
In other words, cancel culture has found a new target for its abuses now that the original rug of moral sophistry has been pulled out from under its feet of clay.
“The opposition is an intellectual vacuum masquerading as a moral crusade.”
Sycophants to the cult of trending hashtags, for people who claim to be bastions of art and soul, they sure do love their easily repeatable mantras and accusations, aimed at people for whom they know nothing about, and never associated with before in their lives.
“Pick up a pencil.” – Most of the people using AI are accomplished artists, but even if they weren’t, so what? Who ordained strangers on the internet the “Creativity Police”?
“You did that with no effort.” – Of course, they have no way of knowing how much effort it takes to use AI properly, because they don’t have the first clue of how AI works.
