HER
Reader Eternal Night added HER, a Spike Jonze classic that explores one lonely man’s relationship with his A.I. personal assistant. Our A.I. Reviewer got sentimental about HER:
“We have a deep love for this movie. I like how Samantha’s voice has become so iconic. It’s always been so strong and sweet, but now it’s the voice we would imagine if we had to speak to ourselves.”
WALL-E
Our A.I. article mentioned Disney’s WALL-E as well, the story of “a playful robot acts on curiosity and a desire to relate with others.”
Artificial Intelligence Reviewer brought out the knives with this particular review:
“it’s fairly vague in its exposition; there aren’t any clear-cut plot lines and the narrative becomes less and less dense as it goes on. For another, there’s just not a whole lot of depth to the story. Perhaps that’s a bad thing. I don’t know. On one hand, the film isn’t about a singular character who is only interested in his own interests, but rather is about the entire series of robots. It’s a bit too cookie-cuttish to be a great film and that makes my enjoyment drop a little.”
