The 2024 Olympic Games gave the world a hero of the new generation. French swimmer Léon Marchand achieved what had previously been considered impossible. In the competition watched on the xBet website, the athlete managed to win four gold medals. Two of them came in the 200 m and 400 m individual medley, while the others came in the 200 m breaststroke and the 200 m butterfly. A bronze in the relay rounded off his Games.
Each of his four victories came with new Olympic records and turned La Défense Arena into a center of national joy. But that should not come as a surprise. The athlete has been swimming since childhood, even though at first he found the water cold.
What is Leon Marchand famous for?
An important step in Leon’s career was his move to the United States. It led to him being coached by the well known Bob Bowman, who helped Michael Phelps become an Olympic champion. Surprisingly, Bowman considered the swimmer too skinny. Even so, the coach was able to uncover a distinctive technique.
Marchand did not become famous overnight, and not for one race only. People on the 1xBet website have been following him since 2023, the summer he broke Phelps’s world record in Fukuoka. Fans also remember him for these moments:
1. Two races in two hours. The performance in Paris took place on July 31, 2024. The athlete swam two difficult distances, the 200 m butterfly and the 200 m breaststroke. This double is considered the greatest in the swimming world.
2. Underwater performances. The secret of the Frenchman’s success is an incredibly powerful dolphin kick under the water after the starts and turns. Along the pool floor, Marchand stays remarkably deep and barely rises. This saves energy, because fans who have the 1xBet apk installed, with a registered account, gain whole seconds on their rivals. Every touch of the pool wall gives him an edge.
3. Other events put on hold. Many people did not want to miss the finals in Paris. That is why football and other Olympic tournaments were put on hold for a while. Thousands of people watched the swimmer in the stands and in front of their screens.
Léon Marchand shows incredible versatility. To follow his results, users open 1xBet and install the apk. Over the long medley and the specialist events he looks just as strong. The young athlete proves that the era of swimming’s great dominant figures is not over yet.
