New trailers are posted to the Film Threat YouTube Channel daily. Everyone else has already posted Mary Poppins Returns and Captain Marvel on their channels and you’ve probably already seen them a few dozen times. But we’re not like everyone else. Here are a few gems you missed in Film Threat’s 5 MUST SEE Trailers, You Must See.
1. Hostile
Juliette (Brittany Ashworth), a lone survivor of an apocalyptic era, fights to survive against hunger, thirst, a broken leg and strange, disturbing creatures that only come out at nighttime. Part Mad Max: Fury Road, part 28 Days Later, Joshua Speiser gives Hostile 5 out of 10 (Film Threat Review) exclaiming “You have got to be f*****g kidding me! Fer Chrissakes…”
2. Armed
Mario Van Peebles follows in his father’s footsteps with his take on the 70’s exploitation genre in Armed. “…he’s a handsome, charming, impeccably dressed…an ex-cop with PTSD who can’t hold down a job,” says Adam Keller in his Film Threat Review (7/10)
3. We The Animals
In his first narrative debut as a director, Jeremiah Zagar tells the heartbreaking story of three brothers forced into the responsibilities of adulthood at far too early an age. Brian Thompson says the film is one of optimism, “framing the world as a series of challenges that must be overcome in the struggle for identity.” Brian gives We The Animals 9 out of 10 stars (Film Threat Review).
4. Love Gilda
Everyone who knew SNL’s Gilda Radner fell in love with Gilda Radner. Documentarian Lisa Diapolito’s Love Gilda stitches together Radner’s book; concert, television, and movie appearances; personal journal entries; and interviews with close friends, colleagues, and family to weave together a touching portrait of this brilliant comedian. Alan Ng brings you the Film Threat Review saying it rivals Mr. Rogers’ doc Won’t You Be My Neighbor for this year’s feel-good film.
5. Captain Marvel
OK. You’ve seen the Captain Marvel trailer too many times, but clearly, you need to see it again. Have you uncovered any Easter Eggs revealing the ultimate end to Thanos and the return of all the heroes with sequels pending? Brie Larson looks amazing, but what about a young Samuel L. Jackson? And Skrulls! Yes, Skrulls. Didn’t Fox own these guys? C’mon everyone, time to watch this one again.
Bonus: The Puppet Inside Me
Alright, we cheated with Captain Marvel in the Must See Trailers Category, since you’ve already seen it. So, Film Threat is proud to present a bonus trailer from our good friends at PornHub and once we figure out how to bypass the Film Threat Firewall, we can give The Puppet Inside Me a proper review. The Happytime Murders brought you simulated puppet sex, The Puppet Inside Me brings you actual puppet sex. Enjoy.
