THE METHOD TO THE TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL’S MADNESS

Through August 27th, the Toronto International Film Festival website will offer festival insights through a series of exclusive video clips featuring Director Piers Handling and various members of the TIFF programming team. They will discuss seminal films that have made impressions upon them in their youth, films that have had a strong impact on audiences at past Festivals, how the festival has grown over the years, and most importantly, the films they have programmed for the festival this year! A new clip will be available every day at 2:00pm till August 27th.
The schedule is as follows:
Thursday, August 22: Planet Africa programmer Gaylene Gould talks about the opening night Planet Africa film, and more.
Friday, August 23: Susan Oxtoby, Wavelengths programmer and Director of Programming for Cinematheque Ontario talks about the importance of having an experimental program at the festival.
Saturday, August 24: Diana Sanchez discusses the Latin-American, Spanish and Portugese films she has programmed this year, and the tribute to her predecessor, the late great Ramiro Puerta.
Sunday, August 25: Steve Gravestock, Manager of Festival Programming talks about his various programming trips around the world, the Dialogues: Talking With Pictures program, the Discovery program, and some of the gems to be found this year at the festival.
Monday, August 26: Programmer B. Ruby Rich talks about the films she has programmed this year, as well as the film that had a big impact on her in her youth.
Tuesday, August 27: Midnight Madness programmer Colin Geddes reveals just how he finds those crazy films year after year and more!
