From [ October 12th through October 19th, 2000, ] which is basically right now, the 7th Annual Austin Film Festival gears up to screen world premieres, retrospectives and competition films. The Festival will also heartily welcome “a number of legendary filmmakers as well as dozens of actors, screenwriters and directors and sports stars” (and Chris Gore)…but this doesn’t mean that film fiends aren’t invited in on the party.

In attendance will be Tobe Hooper, the director of cult classic “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” and also on the schedule is an exclusive screening of the much-hyped Independent Film Channel special “The American Nightmare”. The screenings commence at [ 9 PM ] in the Westgate Theater.
