The 2002 Taos Talking Picture Festival wrapped up on Sunday, April 14th, 2002, after presenting 46 programs of new films and videos, numerous tributes and special programs, and the Taos Media Forum, for a grand total of 180 events in all (whew!). The Festival also included 17 world and U.S. film premieres.
The unique Taos Land Grant Award went to Ralph Ziman, director of The Zookeeper, a drama following a civil servant (Sam Neill) who continues to man his post while his city is under attack. The Land Grant winner receives a very lasting prize: five acres of land in Taos County to call their own.
