WINNERS AT THE FIRST ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL GAY FILM AWARDS

The First Annual International Gay Film Awards were held on Friday, March 22nd at the Ed Gould Theater in Hollywood. The event was created to honor gay-themed films that only saw limited theatrical release over the last year.

This year’s winners include:

“Paragraph 175” (New Yorker Films) for Best Documentary, selected by US Gay Film Festivals. ^ “Trembling Before G-D” (New Yorker Films) for Best Documentary, selected by US Gay Press. ^ “Burnt Money” (Strand Releasing) and “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” (Fine Line Features) tied for Best Feature Film, selected by US Gay Film Festivals. ^ “Second Skin” (Menemsha Entertainment) for Best Film, selected by International Gay Film Festivals. ^ “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” (Fine Line Features) for Best Film, selected by US Press. ^ “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” (Fine Line Features) for Overall Best Film, selected by all voting outlets.
