WE’VE GOT TONIGHT… WHO NEEDS TOMORROW…

By Mark Bell | June 16, 2007

The 2007 CineVegas Film Festival will be wrapping up this evening with the closing night film “You Kill Me” and then the big closing night bash… and the sadness has set in. Last night’s honoree party was very fun, and Jamie got some semi-blurry pics of the Charlize Theron and Anthony Hopkins.

Last night was one of those nights that define the film festival experience for me. Saw a great doc earlier, “Mr. Untouchable,” so I had movie-talk on my mind and an almost endless supply of intelligent people to have said movie-talk with. Mike O’Connell and the gang with “The Living Wake” came back to town, Daniel from “The 4th Dimension” was here, of course Trevor and Mike… just great company to keep. And at the Director’s Suite after-party, the DJ (who I had been praising all week for his bold musical choices, such as the day he worked in a Brian Jonestown Massacre song) had me up dancing AND singing when he unloaded “UMass” from the Pixies. Wonderful evening… and I don’t know if Jamie or I took any pics beyond the honoree ones. Hmmmm, should figure that out.
I’ll have a full wrap-up coming on the main page of Film Threat for Monday, complete with more pics, reviews and other thoughts and impressions of the 2007 CineVegas Film Festival. If you’re a filmmaker who is pretty sure I saw your movie and are waiting for a review, well, it’s coming. I’ve personally got 5 reviews that will be hitting the site on Monday, so if I saw it, it will be covered.
