Shot with an exacting eye, good soundtrack and a cool, cold veneer, “Urban Chaos Theory” chronicles the jolting morning of ten people whose lives are touched and spin out of control. With a urban look that complements the flowing visual style, writer/director Daniel Harris never loses the emotional content amongst the technical visuals, getting good solid performances from good actors (one of whom is Stephen Tobolosky, from Sundance’s own “Memento”).
The film’s complexity of character doesn’t really do the story justice though, and it’s crippled by the running time of the film. Yet Daniel Harris is a name to look for in the future and I look forward to when he directs his first feature.
