The organizers of the TromaDance Film Festival are pleased to announce that TromaDance 2002 will take place January 16-19, 2002 in Park City and Salt Lake City, Utah. This year’s sponsors include Night Flight Comics, Slug Magazine, Troma Entertainment, and Bromo Seltzer. The lead sponsor of the TromaDance 2002 Panel Discussion is the Maryland Film Office and the lead sponsor of the TromaDance 2002 Closing Night Party is the Entertainment Industry Development Corporation of Los Angeles. Thanks to the generosity of TromaDance’s sponsors, once again there is NO CHARGE to filmmakers to submit their films to the selection committee, nor will the general public be charged for tickets. TromaDance is the only festival that is totally free.
TromaDance 2002 promises to be bigger, better, and bolder than last year’s highly successful event, attracting the attention of independent filmmakers and global media. The festival begins the evening of January 15 at 9:00pm with an Opening Ceremony and Reception at Night Flight Comics (Cottonwood Mall- 4835 South Highland Drive, SLC Utah 84117). The screenings of official selections begins January 16 from 6:00pm-Midnight at Brewvies (677 South 200 West- SLC Utah 84101). The screenings continue the following day at 9:00am at Park City’s Phat Tire Saloon (438 SO. MAIN Street- PARK CITY, UT 84060) until 7:30pm. At 8: 00, the TromaDance 2002 Panel Discussion, (topic to be announced). At 9:30pm, the famous TromaDance After-Party will be held at the Phat Tire featuring the Finals of the First Annual Ultimate Tromette Competition.
TromaDance celebrates the independent way of life with the finest selections of truly independent films, animation, music and live performance art. This year, TromaDance will strive to bring a more eclectic mix of independent art of all types from around the world. Entries are still being accepted in all categories, including but not limited to short films, features, animation and music videos. We are also seeking unique and talented performance artists of all kinds. The deadline for entries is December 20, 2001.
In the three years since it burst onto the scene, TromaDance has become one of the most highly-anticipated and widely acclaimed festivals in Park City, with fans of alternative cinema, the mainstream press, and members of the entertainment industry praising its grass-roots approach and democratic spirit.

All submissions must be on VHS 1\2″ Cassette. Unfortunately, due to the mass numbers of videotapes we receive, films cannot be returned.
