THE UNAMERICAN FILM FESTIVAL

By Film Threat Staff | May 19, 2002

The UNamerican Film Festival will screen six anti-war and political films for one night on May 22nd during the 2002 Cannes Film Festival. The films will light up Whatnut’s hip-hop lounge at 7 RUE Marceau at 8:00PM. A party will close down the event beginning at 10:00PM.
The spirit of the fest is best summed up as a creative response to a popular misconception:
Although the US media portrays Americans as being in favor of Bush and war, the reality is quite different. We are American but we do not agree with Bush’s policies nor do we see the world as our enemy.
The UNamerican political agenda covers some great film ground. The Festival plans to screen the Sundance winner “CRACK The CIA” and “S11 Redux,” along with “Horns and Halos” and others.
Esther Bell is the incredible director/Jane-of-all-trades behind the UNamerican Film Festival. Her story, the latest Fest news and reports on her other projects can all be found at her official site.
