Exploring the connection between music and movies, the Noise Pop Film Festival returns with a stellar selection of thirteen films and video, including the world premiere of Jim Mendiola’s “Speeder Kills.” The fourth edition of the Noise Pop Film Festival will run Thursday, February 27 through Sunday, March 2. Screenings will take place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, 701 Mission Street, and at Artists’ Television Access, 992 Valencia, in San Francisco.
This year’s line-up of narrative films, documentaries and shorts juxtaposes the famous with the not-so-famous, the seminal with the obscure, music you know and love with music so new and unusual, you won’t believe your ears. Sonic Youth, the Pixies, the Pogues and the Bouncing Souls are featured in the Noise Pop Film Festival, alongside portraits of the alternative ukulele scene, a schoolteacher who likes to sing songs about Canada, and a video artist on the run.
Tickets for screenings at the Noise Pop Film Festival are $7 and will be available at the door the night of each show.
