Mickey Jones and Billy Bob Thornton sit in the middle of nowhere in the Old West. They are grizzled cowboys. They start to ponder the nature of happiness and empowerment.
A nice little twisted Zen Western by director Jeff Lester (exec. produced by Susan Anton), the thing is mostly a monologue by Jones and a series of fabulous reaction shots by Thornton. When the piece begins to deviate from the expected and wander off in search of its inner child, you know you are in on a winner. Despite the unsatisfying ending, this looks, sounds and plays great. A funny idea skillfully executed, and just the right length.
