THE HORROR, THE HORROR AT LAFF

As a part of the week-long Los Angeles Film Festival (LAFF), which runs from [ April 20th through the 28th, 2001 ] , IFP/West and the LAFF will present a special series focusing on the “next generation of Film West” — the horror film. The series schedule includes:
[ HALLOWEEN ] , directed by John Carpenter and written by John Carpenter and Debra Hill. After escaping from the clutches of the police, Michael Myers returns to his hometown to kill again. The screening takes place on [ Saturday, April 21, 4:30pm ] at the LA Film School. Director John Carpenter will be in attendance at the screening.
[ GINGER SNAPS ] , directed by John Fawcett and written by Karen Walton. Pre-pubescent Ginger, is attacked by a werewolf. Sensing changes in her body, she and her younger sister Brigette are forced to take drastic measures to ensure the safety of their family and peers. The screening takes place on [ Saturday, April 21, 1:00pm ] at the LA Film School and April 24, 10:00 pm at the DGA II.
[ WENDIGO ] , directed by Larry Fessenden, written by Larry Fessenden. In Native American folklore, Wendigo is a fearsome creature, half-man, half-deer, endowed with mythic powers to devour everything in its path. A young boy¹s peaceful weekend eventually becomes one filled with revenge and violence. The screening takes place on [ Saturday, April 21, 8:00pm ] at the LA film School and [ April 25, 9:45pm ] at the Sunset 5.
