THE GREAT BIG 70MM FILM FEST

By Film Threat Staff | November 21, 2000

From [ November 24th ] to [ December 10th, 2000 ] , Los Angeles’ stalwart American Cinematheque will show two larger-than-life movies the way they’re supposed to be viewed — in amazing 70 mm prints that capture every detail and nuance. The Great Big 70mm Film Festival will screen both the classic “Lawrence of Arabia” and the stunning “Ben Hur” with accompanyment from a booming six-track sound system as well.
Two things to note: if “Lawrence of Arabia” is on your must-see list, then be aware that this is the last screening before the print is retired. And “Ben Hur” has a limited run of only two shows — one on [ Thursday, November 30th ] and another on [ Friday, December 1st ] .
For all showtimes and ticket information, see the [ American Cinematheque website. ]
