The inaugural outing of the GLOBAL PEACE FILM FESTIVAL will take place December 10th – 14th in Orlando, Florida.
Festival organizers plan on approximately 50 films for the three-and-a-half day event, evenly split between full-length features and documentaries and short films. They are looking for films from around the world. Among the topics and issues the programmers are interested in seeing, but not limited to, are Global Peace, Conflict Resolution, Peace Activism, Environmental Peace, Providing Safe Environments For Children, Protecting Children, Community Mediation and Socio-Economic Peace. They are also looking for films by young people. There will be a jury competition of which the details are still being arranged. The festival’s closing night will also feature a tribute and honor to a well known peace activist.
The mission of the GLOBAL PEACE FILM FESTIVAL is to utilize the power of the motion picture to further the goal of peace on earth. Through the sharing of films and videos on peace issues at its annual festival, GPFF will encourage diverse voices to be heard around the world.
