The mysterious ED, otherwise known as the creator of the mellow, futuristic short “The Dawn of 2001,” crafted the film as both a tribute to the important year to come and an homage to director Stanley Kubrick, the mind behind the more-relevant-than-ever “2001: A Space Odyssey”. When speaking of Kubrick’s masterpiece and its devoted fans, John Lennon put it best (and the “The Dawn of 2001” site reiterates) when he said the film should be shown in a temple 24 hours a day.
This Flash-produced short has the feel of a “Minds Eye” piece, with a great atmospheric vibe provided by a subtle musical score. Launch at [ the “Dawn of 2001” site. ]
