Festival deadlines seem to be springing up left and right as winter shifts into gear and the heavy fest season gets going. But you’ve still got time to submit to Knoxville, Tennessee’s Valleyfest Independent Film Festival, which gets going officially in [ March of 2001 ] . The deadline for all shorts, features, documentaries and animations is [ December 31st, 2000 ] .
The Valleyfest, now entering its third year on the festival circuit, was created with the mission of showcasing undistributed film, especially works from first-time film and video creators. Past winners, like Best Feature recipient Eric Neal Young and his film “Breathing Hard,” have gone on to win big at other fests as well.
